BEST Petroleum Corp. is the largest independently owned fuel importer and distributor in Puerto Rico. The Company markets gasoline and diesel under the GULF, PHILLIPS 66 and 76 fuel brands through a branded retail network of more than 200 stations all through the island.
BEST Petroleum is predominantly involved in the distribution and sale of refined fuels products: Premium and Regular Gasoline, Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel fuel and Lubricants.

Puerto Rican entrepreneur Antonio De Jesús founds Best Petroleum Corp. as an independent fuel distributor.

During the 1990’s, the Puerto Rico fuel market goes through a major transformation with the rapid growth in number of independent fuel stations. Best Petroleum, with its own storage tanks and fleet of delivery trucks, secures an advantaged position to serve this new market and becomes the key supplier to independent fuel stations.

Best Petroleum secures a long term agreement to lease fuel storage facilities from CORCO in Guayanilla P.R. with a storage capacity of 600,000 barrels.
​

Best Petroleum enters into a JV Agreement with global trading house Trafigura to lease fuel storage facilities from the local government in Guaynabo P.R. (Cataño) with a storage capacity of 300,000 barrels.

Best Petroleum acquires the exclusive rights to market the GULF fuel brand in Puerto Rico. Best rapidly implements the GULF branded program branding more than 150 independent stations in less than 5 years.

Best Petroleum expands its storage capacity at CORCO and grows its distribution of fuels products to the Caribbean market. Best begins adding new lines of products such as GULF Lubricants.

Best Petroleum secures a long term agreement with the Puerto Rico Land Administration for the lease and operation of storage and distribution facilities in Guaynabo P.R. (Cataño).

Best Petroleum acquires the exclusive rights to market the Phillips 66 and 76 fuel brands in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. With their unique and contemporary image, Phillips 66® and 76 brands capture much attention in the market.
